Catherine Robbe-Grillet was born in 1930 in Paris where she went to secondary school and highschool.
A theatre and cinema actress and photographer, she has published under the pseudonyms Jean de Berg and Jeanne de Berg.
She is married to Alain Robbe-Grillet.
