Bar Tabac
A mellow re-creation of the oh-so-typical Parisian smoke shop down in Het Zuid, Bar Tabac (Waalse Kaai 43; tel. 03/238-19-37; Tram 8 to Museum; 6pm-6am daily; No credit cards) is an enjoyably laid-back dive, where candles burn slowly in Perrier bottles and DJs come in and spin (mostly relaxed funk, soul, and Latin tunes) when they feel like it. After midnight, cozy becomes crowded becomes claustrophobic as artsy twentysomethings and fashionistas parade in.
