Definitions
Division into two usually contradictory parts or opinions: “the dichotomy of the one and the many” (Louis Auchincloss). --AHDA dichotomy is the division of concept or of a class of things into two parts which are both mutually exclusive – i.e. nothing can belong simultaneously to both parts – and jointly exhaustive – i.e. every member of the class is in one part or the other.
