Marcel Vanthilt
Biography
In zijn middelbare schooltijd draaide Marcel Vanthilt al kortfilms samen met zijn jeugdmakker Dominique Deruddere.
Hij werd eerst bekend in 1981 met de groep Arbeid Adelt!, die hij vormt samen met Jan Van Roelen. Latere leden van de groep waren Luc Van Acker, Willy Willy, en Danny Klein. Bekende hits waren De dag dat het zonlicht ..., Lekker Westers, en Stroom. Hij was ook zanger bij de groep The Yéh-yéhs, en in 2004 probeerde hij het nog eens met de groep Z.
Van 1987 tot 1990 was Vanthilt VJ bij MTV.
Van 1995 tot 1997 probeerde hij het in de Verenigde Staten, maar het werd geen succes.
Hij presenteerde een aantal quizprogramma's voor TV, zoals De lage landen, Tien Voor Taal, Quix en Zap. Tilt! was een bekende show die hij presenteerde voor VTM, en voor Eén bracht hij de huwelijksshow Wit in Vegas in 2005.
Verder werd Vanthilt berucht als jurylid voor de preselecties van het Eurovisiesongfestival, waarbij hij choqueerde door kandidaten genadeloos af te kraken, en waarbij hij in de clinch ging met een ander jurylid Serge Simonart.

Death Disco (1983,1987) - Arbeid Adelt
"Death Disco" is a cover track of Public Image Limited, a post punk band with the ex-vocalist of Sex Pistols, Johnny Rotten. The New Beat version has strong & slower beats. This belgian electronic mood has also basslines of TB 303 and weird effects. The original one had elements of disco bass and punk rock, with lyrics like "Seen it in your eyes", a paradox about what the eyes show and the words cannot say... Although titled 'Death Disco' it is actually a cover of 'Fodderstompf'. Arbeid are fronted by eclectic Belgian Luc Van Acker who later played the likes of the Revolting Cocks. The band also released a single called 'Jhonnie Sexpistool'. Jan Vanroelen from the band later recorded a studio version of 'Death Disco' which was released as a 12" single.
