Profile
After touring with Pharoah Sanders and playing on several of his albums, Connors signed with Buddah's Cobblestone label in 1972 and recorded his first album as a leader, Dance of Magic. A few more jazz-oriented Cobblestone and Buddah dates followed, and it was in 1975 that Connors made R&B his main priority.
Phoenix (1980) - Aquarian Dream
The 1980 Aquarian Dream album, produced by Norman Connors, with Sylvia Striplin as one of the featured vocalists, Phoenix is the track at the basis of Studio 45's "Freak It" which came out in 1998 on the Azuli label. This Azuli track also features the sweet vocals of Bernard Fowler, one of my all-time favourite vocalists.
