Trivia
In the early 1980s William Socolov formed Sleeping Bag records with the late Arthur Russell. In 1985 Socolov founded Fresh Records. His labels' rosters included Mantronix, Joyce Sims, Nice & Smooth and the multi-platinum act EPMD, who was the first rap act to have 3 #1 R&B albums in America. In 1992 Freeze records was formed by Socolov and Todd Terry. In the late ‘80's FRESH started releasing singles by the Todd Terry Project, including "Weekend" and "Bango," two innovative club chart toppers. These days, former Freeze partner Terry is a dance producer, most recently invading the charts with his innovative remix of Everything But The Girl's "Missing." He has produced and/or mixed hundreds of successful projects. In 1996, Terry decided to devote his full time and energy to his demanding production and remix work, leaving the operation of Freeze in the hands of the Socolov. --from a now defunct Freezegroup site.
